What do I need to get Started?
Opening a Globaltext account.
- You need to register. Registration is FREE of charge. Once you have registered you will receive an email with your username and password.
- Once you have received your username and password, log in to your account.
- Enter the Member Area and click on Account Balance to purchase one of the Globaltext credit packages.
- Your account has now been activated. Give your username and password to your family and friends who you wish to interact with while you are away.
How do I send messages to my Globaltext account?
- You need either a Dual-band or Tri-band GSM cellular phone.
- You need a SIM card, which gives you your cellular phone number.
- Once you have your SIM card inserted in your phone, enter the number into your Address Book. Click on New Entry. Check correct format. Do not add 011, start with the country code and enter the remaining numbers.
- We recommend that you buy extra Airtime so that you don't run out after arrival.
You don't carry the SIM card I require.
- SIM cards and Airtime cards are readily available at all international airports, stores etc. Once you have your number, enter it into your address book. You can enter your globaltext account from any internet-connected device in the world.
How do my family and friends send messages to me?
- Give your username and password to family and friends who you wish to interact with while you are away.
- They log into your account. Select Address Book, select Recipient and click on Send Message to Selected
